Rules
General
- The written rules are not comprehensive; please use common sense. Gridlock staff has the final say on all rules and rule enforcement.
- If any of these rules do not work for you, please contact Gridlock staff by making a ticket in the Gridlock Discord server. The rules may be updated, or an individual exception may be made.
- Be respectful. Hate or harassment towards anyone will not be tolerated.
- Do not attempt to gain an unfair advantage.
- All players must follow the Terms of Service and Participation Agreement, as well as agreements for platforms being used for Gridlock (e.g. Discord, YouTube, Twitch, Minecraft).
Instance and Client
- The only version of Minecraft that may be used is Java Edition 1.21.11.
- Only the following mods may be used:
- Sodium
- planifolia
- GuiScaleSplitter (this link is to a version for 1.21.11)
- Mod Menu (dependency of GuiScaleSplitter)
- MacOS Input Fixes (MacOS specific)
- CommandQ Mod (MacOS specific)
- retiNO (MacOS specific)
- Lunar, Feather, and similar clients are not allowed.
- Only Vanilla and Fabric clients with allowed mods are allowed.
- The Gridlock Minecraft server supplies a required resource pack upon joining. This resource pack must be used as is and no attempts may be made to modify it or avoid using it. No other resource packs may be used.
- All players must play on the Minecraft account they signed up with. Only one player may use a specific Minecraft account, and a specific Minecraft account may only be used by one player.
- Account sharing is not allowed.
Resources and tools
- "Macros", or programs that artificially send input to the game (e.g. auto clickers) must not be used.
- Speedrunning tools such as Toolscreen or waywall may be used for convenience.
- Some features from these tools that may be used include:
- Input remapping
- Mouse sensitivity adjustment
- Cosmetic features, such as cursor trails
- Features from these tools that may not be used include, but are not limited to:
- Window resizing
- Screen mirrors
- Filters/shaders
- Some features from these tools that may be used include:
- "External programs" that collect or process any information about the current game state, or that modify or interact with the game, must not be used. External programs are considered to be a program that is external to Minecraft, or not essential for running Minecraft.
- Toolscreen, waywall, and similar tools are not subject to this rule.
- Resources, such as the Minecraft wiki, Gridlock wiki, or personal notes, may be referenced during a match.
Gameplay
- While playing a match, players must not attempt to externally gain information about their current match. Players must not communicate about their current match with anyone but their teammate.
- Receiving any advice or guidance for an ongoing match from an external party is not allowed. This could include reading a stream chat, so players are encouraged to hide their chat during matches.
- Watching a current opponent's stream during a match is strictly disallowed.
- Watching the main stream during a match is not allowed.
- All players and duos must make an honest attempt to win all matches they play.
- Throwing matches is not allowed. Requesting another team throw a match is not allowed.
- This rule does not apply to Practice matches.
- Players must not intentional quit the game for strategic or gameplay reasons.
Streaming
- All players must live stream on the platform and account they signed up with.
- Players may end their stream when they are not required to stream, and start it again later when required.
- Players are required to start streaming before entering matchmaking, continue streaming while in matchmaking, and stream throughout the entire match. Players may only end stream until after the match has concluded or if they left matchmaking before getting a match.
- Both players on a team must each be streaming.
- Players' streams must be of reasonable audio and video quality.
- Generally, chat and menu text should be legible, and voices should be intelligible.
- All players streams must include microphone audio.
- This is intended to capture communications between you and your teammate.
- There are no requirements to actually be speaking or to speak in any particular language during required streams.
- Stream VODs from all required streams must be publicly viewable for a minimum of 7 days after the stream took place.
- On Twitch, VODs can be enabled in the Stream Dashboard > Settings > Stream > (scroll down) Store Past Broadcasts (on). “Always Publish VODs” must also be enabled.
