Changes

This page is about changes to vanilla mechanics for Gridlock.
For a full log of changes to Gridlock's format, please check the Changelog posts on the News page.

Gridlock aims to provide as vanilla an experience as possible. However, for technical reasons, or to enhance gameplay, some mechanics and functionality differ from vanilla Minecraft, as detailed below:

  • Beds, End Crystals and Respawn Anchors will no longer damage enemy players when clicked by a player in the End or Nether. The explosions will destroy blocks and damage mobs as before.
  • The weather cycle will be disabled - meaning no rain, snow, thunder storms, or other weather conditions.
  • Several time-based mechanics will be sped up to fit the round time better. This includes curing Zombie Villagers, hatching Sniffer eggs, drying out & growing Happy Ghasts, and more.
  • When opening an Ominous Vault, you are guaranteed to given a Heavy Core.
  • Mob drops will be increased (drop rates and loot tables TBD).
