Gridlock is played with a 5x5 grid of objectives that is automatically generated at the start of every game. You'll complete these objectives to earn points, and the team with the most points wins. You can also earn additional points for completing, vertical, horizontal, or diagonal lines of objectives (aka Gridlines).
There are five categories of objectives, each of which comprising different mechanics:
- Simple objectives are easier to complete, but offer a slightly lower point reward. You'll receive 10 of these.
- Complex objectives offer additional points in exchange for a harder challenge. You'll receive 7 of these.
- Team objectives require you to work with your teammate to complete the task. You'll receive 2 of these.
- Opponent objectives pit you against your opponents to score additional points. You'll receive only 1 of these.
- Quest objectives are rare, harder objectives offering a higher reward for more difficult or time-sensitive objectives. You'll receive 5 of these, and they'll unlock throughout the game, offering more points as time goes on.
