Age verification
The 13+ requirement and parental consent for younger players.
In Gridlock, we have a 13+ age requirement for all players. This is to ensure that players have a certain level of maturity and experience to play the game. Any players under 13 are not allowed to play in the game, with no exceptions. If you are found to have played in the game before the age of 13, you will be banned from the game.
Parental consent
For players aged 13-15, we require parental consent to sign up for Gridlock. We understand that this may be a difficult requirement for some players, but it is necessary to ensure the safety of the game and its community. If you are under 16, you can still play in the game, but you will need one of your parents or guardians to confirm their age and agree to your participation inside of Gridlock. This is a legal requirement stated by GDPR law and consent of information ages. This is also a requirement for participating in tournaments ran by Evil Geniuses.
If you do not enter your correct age during setup and are found to be under 16 without parental consent, you will be banned from the game.
How do I get parental consent?
If you enter your birth date as being under 16 at the time of signup, you will be asked to provide parental consent via Kids Web Services.
KWS will send an email to your parent asking them to verify their age using a number of verification methods. Methods vary depending on region, but usually can include a Credit Card check, Photo ID or similar.
Once your parent has verified their age and consented to your participation, you will be able to play in the game and move past the setup step.
For questions about this process, please reach out to us on our Discord server, as we know this can be a complicated process.
